This policy transparently explains how we handle personal data when you use Gamaliel and its Bible study, sermon preparation, and artificial intelligence tools.
Last updated: July 30, 2026
1. Who we are and the scope of this policy
Gamaliel is a digital platform supporting Bible study, research, writing, and sermon preparation with artificial intelligence features. For the processing described in this policy, Gamaliel is responsible for personal data collected directly through the platform.
This policy applies to the website, user accounts, and Gamaliel features. Third-party services accessed through links or integrations have their own policies.
2. Data we collect
We collect only the data needed to provide, protect, and improve the service. The categories may vary depending on the features you use.
- Registration and profile data, such as name, email address, profile image, verification status, and language preferences.
- Authentication data, such as a hashed password, session information, and identifiers or tokens provided by sign-in providers such as Google and Apple.
- Content you create or submit, including questions, prompts, conversations, research, drafts, sermons, passages, preferences, and generated responses.
- Subscription and billing data, such as plan, subscription status, and Stripe customer, price, and subscription identifiers. Full payment card details are processed by Stripe and are not stored by Gamaliel.
- Technical and usage data, such as IP address in security flows, date and time, feature used, token usage, performance, errors, and logs needed for security and diagnostics.
- Communications sent to support or related to email verification, account recovery, and service operation.
3. How and why we use data
We use data to create and manage accounts, authenticate users, save and synchronize content, generate AI responses, process subscriptions, send transactional communications, provide support, prevent fraud and abuse, diagnose failures, and comply with legal obligations.
Under applicable law, processing may be based on performing our contract with you, complying with legal obligations, consent, fraud prevention, and legitimate interests such as security, improvement, and operation of the service, always considering the rights of the individual.
4. Use of artificial intelligence
To generate content, prompts, parameters, Bible passages, and other information you choose to submit may be sent to the model providers configured on the platform, currently including OpenAI and Google Gemini. Content is sent only to the extent necessary to produce the requested response.
Avoid entering sensitive personal data, confidential third-party information, or any content you are not authorized to share. AI responses may also be stored in history, sermons, drafts, or platform caches to provide features and improve performance.
5. Sharing and service providers
We do not sell personal data. We may share data with providers that support Gamaliel's operation, limited to service purposes and subject to their applicable agreements and policies.
- Artificial intelligence providers, to process generation requests.
- Stripe, for billing, subscription management, and payment fraud prevention.
- Google and Apple, when you choose social sign-in.
- Hosting, database, email delivery, and observability providers, including Sentry, for infrastructure, security, and diagnostics.
- Public authorities or third parties when needed to comply with law, protect rights, investigate abuse, or respond to a valid order.
6. Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies and equivalent mechanisms required to maintain your session, secure access, remember language, and enable essential functions. Authentication and payment integrations may also use their own technologies under the respective provider policies.
Blocking essential cookies may prevent sign-in or proper operation of the platform.
7. International transfers
Some providers may process data in other countries. Where required, we use appropriate international transfer mechanisms and assess contractual, technical, and organizational measures consistent with applicable law.
8. Retention and security
We retain data for as long as needed to provide the service, preserve the account and content, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and prevent fraud. The period varies by data category, purpose, and legal requirements. Data may remain longer in backups or legally required records.
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including access controls, credential protection, and monitoring. No system is completely secure, so we also recommend using a strong password, protecting your device, and promptly reporting suspected unauthorized access.
9. Your rights
Depending on applicable law, you may request confirmation and access, correction, portability, anonymization, blocking or deletion, information about sharing, objection or restriction, and review or withdrawal of consent. You may also lodge a complaint with the competent data protection authority.
We may request information to verify your identity before fulfilling a request. Certain data may be retained where a legal basis permits or requires it.
10. Children and teenagers
The service is not directed to children without supervision. Users who lack legal capacity to accept these terms may use Gamaliel only with the authorization and supervision of a legal guardian. If we learn that data was collected contrary to applicable law, we will take appropriate action.
11. Changes and contact
We may update this policy to reflect changes in the service, providers, or law. The current version and last updated date will remain published on this page; when required, we will provide additional notice.
